Financial Aid Workshop for Admitted Freshman
This is the time of year when families are searching for scholarships, grants, and loans and completing financial aid forms. In order to make the filing process easier, we are offering a free Financial Aid Workshop.
Completing and submitting the 2013-14 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step students and parents must take to determine eligibility for federal, institutional, and state financial assistance. Penn State's deadline date for freshmen is March 1, 2013.
As the FAFSA requires information from students and parents, this process can be somewhat difficult for first-time applicants. The purpose of the workshop is to assist you in completing the FAFSA line by line and giving you an overview of the financial aid process at Penn State.
Please request a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov (one for the student and parent). Bring a copy of both the parents' and student's 2012 federal tax return, untaxed income statements, and bank statements; we will be completing the 2013-14 FAFSA before you leave.
As space is limited (95 seats), registration for this workshop is required. To register, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 717-948-6307. Don't forget to include your name, e-mail address, daytime telephone number, and the number of attendees.
Morning refreshments will be provided.
For families unable to attend the workshop, a Financial Aid Call-In Night will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. to answer your questions. The call-in number will be 717-948-6307.
