Bullying/Cyber Bullying

The bullying program represents the four separate categories bullying can fall under (physical, verbal, non-verbal, and social). Students will learn about the myths and facts of bullying as well as the deadly consequences it can have.

Examples of each type of bullying will be explored and explained.

Cyber-bullying can fall under the social form of bullying. Cyber-bullying can be done through the use of social media sites, internet use, internet games, and/or cell phone use. Cyber-bullying, just as bullying, can reach the level of harassment. Students will learn the laws that have been put in place to protect victims of cyber-bullying. Students will also learn ways in which to avoid a bully, make the bullying stop, and how to remain safe on the internet.

This is a First-Year Seminar, which is sponsored by the Penn State Harrisburg Commission for Women and presented by the YWCA.
