Best Practices for PowerPoint: Tips for Teachers

When

Wed, 02/20/2013 - 12:15pm - 1:15pm

PowerPoint is one of the most commonly used technologies in teaching - but in terms of promoting student learning, it's often used less effectively than it might be.

In this workshop, Chas Brua, research associate and instructional consultant, will present current issues and research regarding the effective use of PowerPoint. Building on work by communication experts Edward Tufte, Jean-luc Doumont, and Penn State's Michael Alley, he will present and demonstrate simple but solid guidelines for effective slideshow design.
