About the School of Business Administration
The School of Business Administration at Penn State Harrisburg is the leading business education center in the region. The school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the premier accrediting body for business schools worldwide. Fewer than 400 of the 1,200 U.S. colleges and universities offering both undergraduate and graduate business degrees are accredited by AACSB. This hallmark of excellence is a distinction shared by only 5 percent of business programs around the globe.
The School of Business Administration offers a bachelor of science degree with majors in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management, and Marketing. The school also administers University-wide baccalaureate degrees in Information Sciences and Technology (IST) and Security and Risk Analysis (SRA). We enroll more than 600 students in these four-year undergraduate degree programs.
An International Business minor can accompany any of our majors as can minors in IST/Accounting and IST/Finance. The school also offers a minor in IST to business majors and a minor in Business Administration for non-business students.
At the graduate level we offer the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS). We also offer joint graduate degree programs with the Penn State Dickinson School of Law (the MBA/JD and MSIS/JD) and the Penn State Hershey College of Medicine (the MBA/Ph.D. and MSIS/Ph.D.). Together, almost 250 students are enrolled in these graduate programs.
Our comprehensive Assurance of Learning program ensures continuous improvement of our curricula and teaching. We have specified student learning goals for every degree program and every undergraduate major, and we continuously assess student achievement of these goals and modify our approaches to teaching and learning to facilitate their attainment.
As an academic school within one of the largest and best-known public research universities in the world, we have the infrastructure and resources of a world-class institution with the ambiance of a small college. Class sizes are small and 90 percent of our full-time business faculty members hold a doctorate in their discipline. Our faculty members have been trained at some of the best-known graduate schools in the country and are known nationally and internationally for their research, scholarship, and teaching expertise.
We are proud of the successes our school continues to achieve, and we strive to continuously improve the educational experience for our students. Please visit us or contact our offices for more information.
