  • Cross Country Makes Penn State Harrisburg History

    MIDDLETOWN, Pa- Penn State Harrisburg’s cross country team made school history on Saturday, Nov. 12.  Senior Jenifer Carricato (Dillsburg, PA/Carlisle) and freshman Rosanny Reyes (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) became the first Lion runners to take part in the NCAA’s Division III Mid-East regional race in Center Valley, PA when they competed against over 300 runners.

  • 2011 Cross Country Preview

    MIDDLETOWN, Pa- The 2011 campaign is one of new beginnings for Penn State Harrisburg’s cross country program.  Mary Waechter, a Camp Hill native and Penn State graduate, takes over as head coach of both the men’s and women’s teams this fall.  She brings with her a passion for the sport and plenty of experience, both of which will prove important as Waechter and her runners take the first steps towards building the Lions into North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contenders.

  • Lions Finish 7th in NEAC Championship

    Middletown, PA- Led by freshman Jordan Heisey (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) the Penn State Harrisburg men’s cross country team finished out their season with a 7th place finish in the NEAC Championships. Heisey placed a team best 19th with a time of 30:26 followed closely by Seth Grove (Marietta, PA/Elizabethtown) in 23rd place with a time of 31:01.

  • Penn State Harrisburg Cross Country Place 4th and 7th in Championships

    UTICA, NY - The Penn State Harrisburg women´s and men´s cross country teams placed fourth and seventh respectively in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships at SUNYIT on Saturday.

     

    Freshman Bekah Nieliwocki (Lemoyne, PA/Cedar Cliff) led the women´s team, placing seventh overall with a time of 22:54.2. Followed by freshman teammate Michelle Cease (Danville, PA/Sunbury Christian Academy), placing eighth with a time of 23:08.6.

    Freshman Jennifer Lauzus (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham) was able to finish in the top 30 with a time of 25:44.3. Finishing up for the Lady Lions was Kaitlyn Chajkowski (Camp Hill, PA/Trinity) with a time of 26:43.4 and Jocquise Wolfe (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) with a time of 32:30.4.

  • Penn State Harrisburg Cross Country Prepares for Championship

    MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Penn State Harrisburg cross country team looks forward to this Saturday October 31st for the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship held at SUNY Institute of Technology.

     

    Team captains, Michael Binz (West Deptford, NJ/Glouchester Catholic) and Jocquise Wolfe (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg), look to lead their respective teams to Penn State Harrisburg´s first NEAC championship in cross country since entering division III play.

    In previous years the blue and white have seen their fair share of challenges. This year tells a different story; Coach Norman Magaro has a solid group of runners that look to set the bar high for future Penn State Harrisburg cross country runners for years to come.
