MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – It was announced today that Penn State Harrisburg men’s basketball player Kenton Alston (Harrisburg, PA/Steel-High) and women’s tennis player Theodora Avramidis (Glenwood, NJ/Vernon Township) have been named the school’s male and female Student-Athletes of the Year.

  • Lions Fall In Second-Straight NEAC Title Game

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- Penn State Harrisburg’s men’s basketball team accomplished more in its 2011-2012 campaign than it had in any season since re-forming the program in the fall of 2005. The Lions won a school-record 20 games, including non-conference victories over some of the best competition in the mid-state area, and clinched their first ever North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division title. Unfortunately, the Lions fell just short of achieving their number one goal: winning the NEAC championship tournament and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA’s Division III tournament.

  • Lions Rally Past Wells; Advance to NEAC Title Game

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- Call it the revenge factor. Call it a refusal to quit. Call it a signature victory.

You can call it whatever you want, but there’s no denying the heart displayed by Penn State Harrisburg in the team’s 72-64 win over Wells in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 25. Playing 250 miles from home, without the services of starting forward Dave Reisinger (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) and trailing by as many as 14 points, the Lions rallied to down the Express in a rematch of last year’s conference championship game.

  • Jones, Alston Named To All-Conference First Team

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced today that Penn State Harrisburg junior guard Steve Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) and senior forward Kenton Alston (Harrisburg, PA/Steel-High) have been named first-team all-conference selections for their outstanding play during the 2011-2012 season.

  • Score One More For Jones

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- For the third time this season, Penn State Harrisburg junior Steve Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) men’s basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.  The versatile guard twice won the award during the month of January before the conference bestowed the honor on him during this, the final voting period of the 2011-12 campaign.
