  • Four Lions Earn All-Conference Honors; Kane Named Coach of the Year

    MIDDLETOWN, Pa- This past weekend was a big one for Penn State Harrisburg’s golf team.  The Lions successfully defended their 2010-2011 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship by posting a team score of 650 at the league’s two-day championship tournament in Pennsauken, NJ; good enough to clinch their second straight league title and earn their second consecutive NCAA Division III championship tournament berth.  In addition to this accomplishment, four blue and white golfers in Matt Plummer (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley), Max Hrip (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley), CJ Foust (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) and Steve Foell (Pottstown, PA/Boyertown) were named as NEAC all-conference selections.  Plummer also earned Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors, while Head Coach Brad Kane was voted the league’s Coach of the Year for the second straight season.

  • Blue & White Headed Back to NCAA Tourney

    MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Last year, Penn State Harrisburg’s golf squad became the first team in school history to earn an automatic NCAA Division III tournament berth when it won the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship.  This season, the Lions are heading back for more.  The blue and white shot a combined two-day total of 650 at the NEAC championship tournament at the par-70 Pennsauken Country Club in Pennsauken, NJ on Saturday, Apr. 21 and Sunday, Apr. 22; good enough to win the league crown and earn an NCAA tourney bid for the second straight season.

    MIDDLETOWN, Pa- It was announced today that Penn State Harrisburg freshman Matt Plummer (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference’s (NEAC) Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for the time period ending Sunday, Apr. 15.

  • Lions Battle Elements In Spring Opener

    MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg’s golf team hit the links for its first round of spring play on Monday, Mar. 26.  The Lions took part in the Swarthmore Invitational at the Rolling Green Country Club.  The blue and white played admirably on a cold afternoon marred by blustery winds, scoring a team total of 348 and finishing third out of five squads that included the likes of Drexel, Widener and the hosts from Swarthmore.
