Penn State Harrisburg named Ross Patrick as its new women’s basketball head coach in July of 2008, ushering in a new era of Lady Lion basketball.

Over the past 3 seasons, the young Lady Lion have continued to mature under Coach Patrick, and are just coming into their own.  This past season was the best in program history; most wins in a season (18), longest winning streak (9 games), led the NEAC conference in scoring (68.8 ppg), and the highlight of the season was traveling to Gallaudet University and knocking off the undefeated and 18th nationally ranked Bison!

Coach Patrick came to Penn State Harrisburg from neighboring Elizabethtown College where he spent eight seasons as an assistant coach. Patrick graduated in 1999 from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in Business Administration-Marketing, and completed his master’s degree in Sports Management during the summer of 2008 from Millersville University.

"I believe the key to building a successful basketball program is all about relationships… The relationships that are initiated with families during the recruiting process, the positive relationships amongst staff and administration, and most importantly, the facilitation of relationships among our players, and their campus community.”

MOTIVATED. PASSIONATE. COMMITTED.

These are words that can be used to describe the persona of the Lady Lions head coach. "It is the coach’s responsibility to exemplify the qualities demanded of my players. I will work tirelessly to make sure that our players are placed in positions to succeed. I will bring enthusiasm and excitement to all aspects of the basketball program. I am determined to guide the Lady Lions of Penn State Harrisburg to success on and off the basketball court."

Coach Patrick lives in nearby Mount Joy, with his wife Claudia and son Riley.
